THE BENEFITS OF CPC AND CPM
CPC and CPMare very good methods of advertisements. Both have their own pros and cons. It’s just how you use it to promote your blog and/or your products and services.
CPC or the cost per click only incurs payment if your audience or your target market clicks it. Your banner will be seen on such website and they are free to click it or not. If your audience clicks it, he will be redirected to your blog.
On the other side of the coin, CPM or the cost per mile per thousand works really the same as to advertisement. Thousands refers to impressions. Your ads will be posted on a website and you will need to pay regardless your audience clicks it or not. Should they click on it, he will be redirected to your blog.
The question is—what works best? For this stand, CPC seems to work better than CPM, clicks will lead you to a website traffic than impression. However, if you are seeking for an impression from another website, you may do the CPM.
When does CPM win?
CPM wins when you placed your ad in a website and sees your ad there, therefore if there are 10,000 who visited such website and saw your ads, then that is good. Much better if your ad is big enough for them to notice it. On the other hand, when you opted CPC and no one clicks it though it is so noticeable, then, in this scenario CPM wins.
LET US DO A SIMPLE MATH FOR THIS TWO METHODS:
In the above scenario, it is so obvious that CPM or the cost per mile per thousands wins. But to reiterate again, clicks are better than views for it will actually lead to your website, while views of your ads will only generate awareness and it has to pass on several stages before your target audience clicks it.
NO, it is a big no-no, whether you chose CPC or CPM, it all depends on how you placed your ads, the design of your ads, and the frequency of the appearance of your ads. There are so many factors to consider, otherwise, your contract will expire and you will find out later that you have just lose money for advertisements without any return on investments—take note of the word “on” it connotes profit unlike return of investments which connotes break even.
Both of these methods are working perfectly, it is just up to you whether you would like to choose the CPC or CPM. Whatever platform you will be using, just be mindful of the return on investment, otherwise, your site will not be that reliable.
